New Makers Market

A place to dream big...

New Makers Market is unique in the fact
that the vendors behind the table are all
YOUTH & TEENS!

They bring their big ideas, the community comes in to support them, shop their creations, and remind them that they matter.

Our next market will take place on Saturday, September 13th at Bronkberry Farms in Plainfield, IL. The event is filled with fun, is FREE to the community, & will be family friendly with kids crafts & more!

However, for those looking to be a youth/teen vendor (between 10 and 18 years), must register & pay a small fee to participate.

Follow the link below to register as an artist and vendor. Spots are limited!

A groovy way to get young creatives feeling seen, heard, valued, and learning the 'business of art.'

Instilling Confidence in the Creative Youth of our Community

Creativity starts young. The excitement for finger painting, dancing to music in the back seat, creating chunky jewelry...it's all so fun and for many becomes more than just a 'childhood hobby.'

As we step into our formative
years, we may find
ourselves looking to expand,
but often with the rush
of life, school, and 'society's standards'
we lose our touch of magic.

Not around here! New Makers Market is MADE for those looking to create more, stand out differently, or who are even thinking about being artists, creators, or visionaries well into their adult life. If your 8-18 year old would love to share their very own magic with the world - here is where it can flourish!

Megan Holly

Hey hey! I'm Megan and I was put on this planet to create and have been doing so my entire life. The New Markers Market means the world to me, because it is my goal and happiness in life to give back to our youth. Giving our community a place to foster a love and appreciation for art of all kinds is something I feel passionate about. As a working photographer and dance professional, my mission is to show the younger generation that it is absolutely possible to sustain a well loved life in the arts. With an Associates Degree in Interior Design and Bachelors in Children and Family Services there is no doubt that fostering a love of learning, dedication, and respect is pertinent in raising children into competent (and creative) members of society. My years of teaching and cultivating a way to connect with the younger generation has prepared me to help explode the excitement and unique event this market is becoming. It is with much pleasure to create and watch this market come to life for each and every artist that will take part, for their futures are bright with the right tools and encouragement. I dedicate this event to my niece, Emma, who was the catalyst for this entire idea. Her love and eye for art and a conversation one fall day lead to this coming to life – I love you Em!

Chrissy Sherry

Hi there! My name is Chrissy and I am one of the New Makers Market cofounders. This market is near and dear to my heart because this was a dream of mine when I was young. At a very young age I dreamed of having a career in art, but lacked support and resources in order to fully navigate the art world. I’ve received a bachelor of fine arts degree in Communication Design and then continued to receive a bachelor's degree in Art Education. Art has been a main focus in my life since I could hold a pencil/crayon and I have been creating ever since I can remember. My chosen mediums are acrylic on canvas, fiber arts (macramé, dream catchers, wall hangings), pen and paper, and graphic design. I’ve been commissioned to paint several murals in local businesses and homes and absolutely love the challenge of a unique space and subject matter. My daughter was a huge inspiration for creating the New Makers Market. It is important to me to have resources available to her in support of any creative journey wishes to take in life. To feed the passion of young artists is something I only dreamed of as a kid and I am honored to have created an event and movement for change in the art world.
